Verena Bruchhagen is since 1996 head of the Women´s Studies and of DiVersion: Managing Gender & Diversity at the department of educational science / sociology at the Technische Universität Dortmund, with numerous publications on the issue of adult education in women studies, in managing gender and diversity and learning and teaching diversity.

With Dr. Iris Koall she is co-founder of the science-based program "DiVersion: Managing Gender & Diversity". She is teaching and training professionals and adults in Managing Diversity.

In the DGSv she is member on the committee on further education and in ANSE (Association of National Organisations for Supervision in Europe), she is also involved in questions of Learning and Training Diversity.
